Interview with Ashton

By Simon Rimington

The ADC bandwagon rolls into Middlesbrough this week for events 5-8 of the LP Metal Detecting Ladies Tour. With the spoils shared between Lisa Ashton and Deta Hedman in events 1-4, Lisa has a chance to make a break for it with Deta otherwise engaged for at least 2 of the events. Lisa has confirmed she will be playing the full weekend in Middlesbrough, which is a real endorsement of what ADC have put together for the women’s game.

Lisa was happy to take a little time out of her busy schedule to answer a few questions for us ahead of the events:

Did you enjoy your first ADC Ladies Tour Events?

I really enjoyed my first ADC ladies’ tournaments, it was very welcoming and friendly. I felt really comfortable and relaxed in the atmosphere it gave.

How did the venue and setup compare to other ladies’ events you have played?

The set up for the venue was great. Plenty of space to play comfortably and all tablet scoring system so it all ran smoothly, we were not waiting for markers like some WDF tournaments I have been to. It is run like the PDC system so all great.

Were you surprised by the standard of the event?

The standard in ladies’ darts is rising all the time so it is great to the ladies entering these competitions.  Quite a lot of the ladies play on the PDC so I went for more playing practice as I needed it and I got good games at the events. I just hope more off the ladies from all over enter these as they are great with good standards still rising.

How does the entry fee and pay-out compare to other organisations you have played under?

The entrance fee is good given what you can win and pick up for other places on any of the 4 competitions they run over the weekend, that's great.

Lisa added, “The ADC is great to give the ladies their own competitions. I just hope the ladies keep backing these as it will improve your game plus there is great prize money to win.  Any problems with the scoring system they are there to help.”

If you want to get involved in the action in Middlesbrough then entries remain open on Darts Atlas until the day of the event and you can still get involved in the hotel deal by contacting Middlesbrough Holiday Inn Express and quoting ‘ADC Darts’.

We look forward to seeing you there!
